Hotel room in Pattaya?

nitro asked:

Visiting pattaya in late December. I wanted to know if is it possible to walkin and get a hotel room or the situation gets really tight. i am visiting for the first time. the reason i dont wanna book on internet is because i am getting mixed reviews from different websites and dont wanna book for 15 days over the internet. I wanna see if its worth staying in before i pay for it. I am a budget traveller not looking to spend more than $25/night. also if u can tell me if they will charge extra if i bring a girl with me for a night if i take a double room.
Thanks.

It’s possible to walk in but, the rate will be the “rack” rate which is why you would reserve it through a discount site. The mixed reviews will usually mean some rooms are in good shape and some aren’t or some times the staff are nice or sometimes they aren’t. Personally, I have only stayed at one place in Pattaya.

I took a look, the Sawasdee hotel chain has a website and it is lower than the Asiarooms.com price. They may not include room tax in their price. I noticed they had 2-3 star ratings for a one star hotel.

    Good luck Jimmy

Budget traveler shouldn’t come to Thailand during the high season your be disappointed in what you find here for $25. Your be paying more for the room then for that whore you take back to your room.

I’d recommend you to book a room in advance. You can see a list of Pattaya hotels.

Mercure Hotel is a good choice (75$/night in Dec). This hotel is very nice and staff were helpful and very professional. very comfortable and value for money. No extra charge for extra guest if you booked as 2 person in one room. swimming pool is nice and clean. A 24 hrs Villa Market (supermarket) and a small cafe inside the market is very close to the hotel. You can shop and eat 24 hrs. Very new and nice plaza. Must go to the Street Market (near beach) to feel the night of Pattaya. Have a nice trip!!

This guesthouse charges 850 baht a night about 27USD a night there is cheaper rooms, so book here first for 2 or 3 nights then you can take your time so see other places some as little as 500 a night but as gor security you will see for yourself.
There is no guest fee at this guesthouse and in general at most guesthouses, hotels are different.
The owner runs a bar downstairs as well as having other guesthouses without bars, Scottish so he must be OK

on soi 13 Ma maison is about 950 a night and close to the beach no guest fees.

December is a busy time for travel to Pattaya. While it is possible to walk around checking for a room, you’re best bet is to book something in advance. Book the whole 15 days and if you don’t like the place and find someplace that suits you better, you can always check out. I stay at Welkom Inn, in the northern section of town. Welkom won’t even ask for a credit card/advance payment but require you to confirm and reconfirm and then reconfirm again. They tell you when they need reconfirmation in their reply (something like when they confirm the room, 3 months prior to arriving, a month prior to arriving, and a week prior to arriving). Most of the rooms are a little different and I haven’t had a bad room in all my numerous stays there. The staff is friendly, the food at the garden cafe is outstanding and the bar has lots to offer. They do not charge for guests.

Rates will vary depending on how full they’re getting, getting a room should be no problem. Many hotels don’t charge extra for bringing another person with you, but they’re are some that prohibit visitations of questionable visitors for their reputation’s sake, so check out the signs around the reception desks first.
